Science Experiment

Have you ever wondered what would happen if you forgot you were boiling eggs?
THEY BLOW UP!!!! I never was good in science class...especially in the lab.
SO, thinking I can multi-task, I put some eggs on to boil and then went into the den to call and make appointments to the Sisters I Visit Teach. One sister will talk your ear off (yes, someone else in this world is like me). I started hearing a popping sound----like pop guns going off in the house. I knew that I didn't own any pop-guns, and I knew no one else was in the house, so it had to be ("Oh no, I forgot the eggs") ...the EGGS! They were popping everywhere...stove top, floor, and in the
pan. AT LEAST THEY WERE COOKED! The pan was pretty burned...but good 'ole SOS pads saved me on this mistake. I can't even begin to tell you about the "stench" it left.
I put on my coat and opened up the doors...piano students were due to arrive in one hour. Then I took out the Lysol Spray...actually the smell went away.

So the lesson learned today? Don't call and make appointments for Visiting Teaching when boiling eggs!

  1. Okay so now I know where I get my multi-tasking skills from!! If we could only remember the tasks we were multi-tasking. I guess I would rather clean up water then eggs...actually I have cleaned up both now but not cooked...raw...read my blog now. I have a little David Jr on my hands now.

  2. Mom, Just last week Julie was boiling eggs and forgot about them. I found the pot half full (or half empty, I like to use the positive) of water. One egg was cracked on the top and the white had buldged out and into the water. The rest of the eggs were GREAT, they peeled so nicely. I guess the secret to good boiled eggs is to boil them just before they explode.

  3. Julie did a similar thing last week. I was fortunate to find the eggs half way out of the water. One exploded, but the others were great, they peeled so nicely.

  4. Hey, Amelia, I did the same thing, but left the house for a meeting and the house filled with smoke. Febreeze saved me. I calle Amanda when I remembered and she turned off the popped eggs and open the doors. It went away - good lesson
